How to Export Your RedGIFs Favorites with Our Browser Extension

    March 6, 20265 min read

If you've built up a library of liked videos on RedGIFs and want a faster way to save the links you need, our free browser extension makes it simple. Fetch your entire favorites list, then select, copy, or download direct links in a single session.

    What the Extension Does

The GetRedGifs Favorites Extension connects directly to your RedGIFs account (via your browser session) and fetches the list of every video you've liked. It then sends those favorites to the GetRedGifs Favorites page, where you can download individual items or bulk-export direct links in your preferred quality — HD, SD, Silent, or image.

Everything runs locally in your browser. No data is sent to our servers, no account credentials are shared, and no history is stored.

    Supported Browsers

    • Google Chrome (and Chromium-based browsers)
    • Mozilla Firefox
    • Microsoft Edge
    • Brave

Safari is not currently supported due to its restrictive extension APIs.

    How to Install

    1. Visit the Favorites page on GetRedGifs.
    2. Click "Install Extension" and you'll be directed to your browser's extension store.
    3. Add the extension to your browser. It requires minimal permissions — only access to the RedGIFs website.
    4. Log in to RedGIFs in a separate tab if you aren't already signed in.

    How to Use It

    1. Go to the Favorites page on GetRedGifs. The extension will be detected automatically.
    2. Click "Fetch Favorites" to load your liked videos. Depending on how many you have, this may take a few seconds.
    3. Choose your quality and click download on individual items, or use Bulk export favorites to filter, select, copy, or download .txt/.json link files.

    Privacy and Security

We built this extension with privacy as the top priority:

    • No account data collected: The extension reads your favorites list through your existing browser session. We never see your password or login details.
    • No tracking: There are no analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking in the extension.
    • Open communication: The extension only communicates with RedGIFs servers (to fetch your favorites) and your local browser (to send them to the Favorites page).
    • Minimal permissions: It only requests access to the RedGIFs domain — nothing else.

    Common Questions

What if my favorites don't load?

Make sure you're logged into RedGIFs in the same browser. The extension uses your active session to fetch data. If you're logged out, it won't be able to see your favorites.

Is there a limit on how many favorites I can export?

There's no hard limit on our side. However, if you have thousands of liked videos, the fetch process may take longer. For very large selections, downloading a .txt or .json link file is usually more reliable than copying to the clipboard.

Will this work if a video has been deleted?

No. If a creator has deleted their content or their account has been removed, those videos won't be available for download. This is why we recommend archiving your favorites regularly.
